INTRODUCTION
The performer turned to us with a request to create content for the tour in support of his new album. The original concept was to use holographic ventilators or a projection, however as we talked that over we decided it would be unprofitable, as it might entail high costs and some risks. Instead, we suggested turning the stage into a 3D space, where the performer is scanned in real time. In every city during the tour, there worked a VJ, who created unique content for each show. For example, Saint Petersburg became a flooded sea of blood, which echoed the title of the tour album OLDBLOOD.
RESULT
In the project there were used the following modern instruments of creating the generative graphics:
- Kinect-cameras that scanned the performer;
- Two servers with cameras, rendering content in real time and sending it to the third server, where the VJ was working;
- All the servers accepted audio-signal to use the frequencies to generate the material;
- VJ used not only the content on the servers but also a set of data and effects.
